My name is Dana and I’m the founder of “Crochet by Dana” .

Today, I combine my love for animals and crochet to create personalized plushies that are as unique as the pets who inspire them.

How I started crocheting

Crocheting has been a passion of mine since a little over 6 years. It all started with a random Youtube tutorial about a crochet Teddy Bear🧸. This one Teddy Bear quickly turned into several different crochet projects a week - ranging from cute Rabbits to Handbags to Beanies, and finally I found what I REALLY loved doing: creating colourful, unique & eye catching (customisable) Pet Plushies that really mean something to their owners. I myself lost several of my furry soulmates these past years and my heart absolutely shattered. So I thought of a way to have them with me forever.. So I started crocheting custom Pet Plushies! And maaan I love doing it and seeing how happy and emotional they make other animal-loving people💗

How a Plushie comes to life

Now let me tell you a little bit of how a Plushie is brought to life. So obviously the first thing I do is carefully analyze the Pictures I get from Customers and pay a lot of attention to details. Then I think about the best way to crochet the best Mini-Copy piossible. When I have a plan in head, the crocheting starts. Then I crochet which usually takes about 10hours for a one-colored 30cm Plushie. When that’s done, the detail work starts; sewing on the body parts, the eyes other accessories. Last but not least I do the packaging and prepare for shipping. So all in all it takes me at least 12 hours to create one single plushie. I hope this gives you a little view of the amount of work and passion that I put into each and every crochet Project.
